Public Forum: Electric Vehicles, the Norwegian Experience
Event description
Public forum on the Norwegian electric vehicle revolution
The Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association (Norsk Elbilforening) will be in Canberra in November and has kindly agreed to participate in a public forum on the electric vehicle revolution underway in Norway. Norway is widely acknowledged as the world leader in vehicle electrification, with 80% of new cars this year being battery electric vehicles. Australia can learn a great deal from Norway's experience. Our speakers from the Norwegian EV Association will talk about the policies that have propelled EV adoption in Norway. They will paint us a picture of what it's like to be in a country where most new cars sold today are electric, and help us understand how to be ready for this. They will also touch on recent developments in heavy vehicle electrification including trucks, ferries and public transportation.
Some introductory remarks will be made by Mr Erik Svedahl of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Canberra.
There will be ample time for what we expect will be an enthusiastic Q&A session at the end of the forum! Please note that this is not a virtual event.
