Public Parent Presentation: Katy Walker - Young Brains, Big Emotions

Pembroke warmly invites parents to a public presentation by Katy Walker. Katy is an adolescent talk-therapist, writer, speaker, and advocate for innovative approaches to emotion, behaviour, and wellbeing. Founder of The Clearing Room, Katy has spent twenty years working with and listening deeply to young people. She has built unique philosophies to assist young people to gain the emotional flexibility they need to thrive in today’s modern world.

Why do humans experience emotion? Where do our emotions come from and how do they impact us? This presentation assists parents to gain understanding of the anatomy of emotion and learn strategies, tools, and language for helping children and teens regulate and integrate big feelings in the moment.
