Join us for an engaging talk with Dr João Boto Caeiro, Architect in Residence at the UWA School of Design and Visiting Fellow with the Institute of Advanced Studies.

Dr João Boto Caeiro is a professor at the Fine Arts School of Oaxaca in Mexico. He holds a PhD in earth and bamboo technology and knowledge sharing from the Autonomous University of Mexico and is currently the Director of the Oaxaca based architecture practice RootStudio. João also leads architectural courses at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Universidad Iberoamericana, and Tech de Monterrey. With a strong focus on community engagement and sustainability, João has led numerous rural projects centred on the use of local materials and traditional construction techniques. His commitment to social and environmental responsibility has been recognised internationally, including receiving the prestigious Curry Stone Prize for Social Commitment.
