Pugon Nights

Pugon Nights is a table between two homes: the Philippines carried in memory and Northern Australia now called home.

Named after the traditional Filipino wood-fired oven, it brings Filipino flavours and Territory produce together through fire, smoke and time.

Each plate begins with food that raised us, then takes shape through the ingredients and landscape around us today. It honours migration, memory and the quiet ways we keep our culture alive while making a home somewhere new.

Shared around one community table, Pugon Nights is an intimate gathering built on food and the stories we carry with us.

Under the night sky, fire burns, DJ SpinaFX spins vinyl and plates move around the table, with works by Filipino visual artist and educator Jose Patalinghug, Design Ka John and motorbikes on display.
