Tembang Nusantara 2026 - Poelang Kampoeng

Six Indonesian communities in Melbourne—representing the western, central, and eastern regions of their beloved homeland—celebrated Indonesia’s independence with a spirit of mutual cooperation and unity.

For this edition of *Tembang Nusantara*—celebrating 81 years of independence—we chose the theme of "returning home" (*poelang kampoeng*) and collaborated to produce an operetta/mini-concert featuring characters such as Kabayan, Doel, Ucok, Made, and Nona Berkabaya as they discover their identities amidst their diversity.
