Description

ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY! Thursday 19th November (Week 6) @ 6:30pm

Pulteney's Year 10 & 11 Drama classes are proud to present their final productions for 2026. With a collective cast & crew of 21 talented students, this is set to be an entertaining evening of laughter and thought-provoking theatre, hosted by the 2026 PGS Drama Captains, Izzy Tribe & Billy Rowan.

DATE: Thursday 19th November

VENUE: Goodwood Institute (166 Goodwood Rd, Goodwood SA 5034). Please enter the venue around the corner via Victoria St. Our friendly ushers will be there to welcome you.

Please note: the theatre does not have a carpark, but free parking is available on the public surrounding streets.

TIME: 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Please arrive no later than 6:20pm; the bar will be open from 5:45pm for pre-show beverages, which can be brought into the theatre.

The Year 10s will first stage the comedy/drama Miss Beth, written by Don Zolidis. Largely inspired by William Shakespeare's Macbeth, the action is not set on the battlefields of Scotland... but rather, amongst a high-school cheerleading team, and the ambitions to get to the top.

After a brief interval, the Year 11s will present the original comedy Locked Up. In the hopes to earn money to fund and improve the very average living conditions at Blackwood Correctional Facility, the warden has welcomed a television crew to film a new episode of a reality television show offering viewers a look inside Australia's prison system. Amongst confessional interviews and a mysterious new addition, the inmates are also secretly planning their great escape.

This is an eclectic mix of drama and comedy, showcasing the students’ versatility and collaboration. The senior Drama evening is a highly popular event in the Pulteney community, selling out before opening night -- so be sure to get your tickets quickly to avoid missing out! We would love your support in coming along, and hope to see you at the show!

Pulteney students & staff: please check your email for a message regarding a special ticket offer!

For any questions regarding the production, please contact Jamie Hibbert: jamie.hibbert@pulteney.sa.edu.au

Please note: As Miss Beth is loosely based on the story of Macbeth, the topic of murder is discussed, and the deaths of some characters is depicted. These are presented in highly exaggerated ways, rather than the very serious action of Shakespeare's play. The intention is to be comical and lighthearted, presented in a somewhat melodramatic style. Additionally, an oversized plastic knife prop briefly appears onstage and is held by actors, but not used in a violent way.

Both productions are suitable for ages 10+. Please reach out to Jamie Hibbert if you have any questions.
