PURL - Global Engagement Series
Event description
You are invited to attend the 2024 PURL Global Engagement Series.
This year, the PURL GES explores the theme of Eco Urban Futures.
Following Stephenson's first City Planning Scheme and its subsequent reviews, many documents, such as the Urban Design Framework (2009) and The Perth City Snapshot (2016), have paved the way for a stronger focus on resiliency, ecology, and sustainability to transform the City of Perth into a destination and a place to live.
Further studies and agreements, such as the City of Perth Sustainability Strategy and the Perth City Deal, exemplify such an effort.
Notwithstanding a series of successful projects built after introducing the Ten Good Design Principles State Planning Policy, these are yet to fully contribute to generating a design-based instrument that informs such strategies, providing a tangible vision for the City of Perth concerning its inner challenges and aspirations and the urban region.
Please join our guests and national and international panellists in sharing experiences and discussing opportunities for the City of Perth to achieve its long-term goals.
Invited guest speakers:
Damien Pericles, REALMstudios Founding Director
Paul Jones, OMA’s Australian Director
Ingeborg Rocker, Chair, Industry and Innovation Georgia Tech University
With kind regards,
Professor Francesco Mancini FHEA
