Purpose Disruptors Pub Gathering
Description
In November 2025, nine of the UK's leading climate and nature scientists gathered in Westminster for a National Emergency Briefing. It ran for over three hours. It was covered by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times .
The People's Emergency Briefing distils that evidence into a 45-minute film: on extreme weather, food security, health and cost of living. From scientists who don't soften what they know.
We're screening it at The East Village Hotel on Wednesday 15th July.
Joining us on behalf of the Biodiversity Council will be Dr. Patt Finnerty. Patt is a conservation ecologist at the University of Sydney working on rewilding, threatened species recovery, and reconnecting people with nature. He is a Fulbright Fellow and ABC Top 5 scientist.
Immediately following the screening Patt will provide local context and speak about the state of Australian nature: what we’re losing, what we’re learning, and what we can still do.
The final part of our gathering will be a conversation about what it could mean for our industry here in Australia, an industry that shapes what people believe, care about and do.
This will be its first ever showing here in Australia.
Later this year we're planning a dedicated industry screening for advertising, media and marketing. This first screening is your chance to help shape what that looks like.
Free to attend. Spaces are limited. Register via the link.
Bring someone from advertising, media and marketing who doesn't usually come to climate events. This film was made for exactly that person.
