Purposeful Patch Planning Property Planning Workshop

Join us for a full-day, intensive workshop where you will learn how to access information, tools and technology to help you plan your patch responsibly and effectively. During this hands-on workshop, we will show you how to use your own devices, interpret the data and utilise the information you access. At the end of the day, you should have a solid knowledge on what's available to help you make informed decisions on the stewardship of your property and the environment beyond.

During the workshop you will receive:

excellent small farms planning resource documents with worksheets and comprehensive planning information;

access to experienced locals already applying the information and technology to their own patches in the Mary Valley;

lunch and time to interact with your peers and facilitators;

support accessing information about your own property on your own devices;

A set of PDF files and maps that we help you generate for you to take home at the end of the day.

AGENDA:

9.30-10 am: Coffee/tea and meet-and-greet

10-10.15 am: Introduction, goals of the day and housekeeping.

10.15-10.45 am: General design and planning and overview.

10.45-11.15 am: Walk through the online materials and tools.

11.15-11.45 am: Natural resources assessment - soil, water and vegetation.

11.45 am-12.15 pm: Planning resilient, productive farm landscapes.

12.15-12.30 pm: Preparing for the practical activities after lunch.

12.30-1.30 pm: Lunch.

1.30-2 pm: Mapping layers and critical information.

2-2.30 pm: How to find the layers you need.

2.30-3 pm: Accessing and using resources with your own devices.

3-3.30 pm: Producing your own files - creating a suite of PDFs of your own property to use in your planning activities.

3.30-4 pm: Further work, and introduction to the self-assessment tool, summary of the day and wrap-up… Where to from here.
