Event description

Research shows laughter enhances creativity and learning. Plus (no research required): it feels good too!

Laughter goes hand in hand with happiness, which is a crucial element for people to thrive personally. When people thrive personally, they can truly thrive professionally. Creating work environments conducive to happiness plays a key role in enabling organisations to reach their full potential.

There are plenty of ways to create happy working environments: doing so is good for people, and not only is it good for business - it's just good business.

Hear from three business leaders who walk the talk when it comes to running successful businesses whilst making sure to have some good laughs along the way, and get key insights on how they do it!

  • Dr Jenny Brockis, Founder, Brain Fit
As an advocate for happiness and mental health, Jenny is passionate about people, performance and practical solutions that improve our cognitive health and wellbeing. She has presented to and worked with thousands of people to empower them to cultivate their own thriving mind, what it takes to stay well, think smart and stay safe.
  • James Sutherland, Director, Office Solutions IT
By his very nature, James empowers others to feel good and have fun. This is evident in his leadership style at Office Solutions IT, and Youth Futures and City Rotary (East Perth); non-profit organisations he passionately contributes his own time to. In his own words, "I have a Masters in Business Admin but a PhD in FUN"

  • Angel Chen, Co-Founder, DrawHistory
As Co-Founder of Draw History, a Certified B Corporation, Angel creatively strategizes with organisations to amplify their social impact. She is passionate about creating a world where all organisations have equal access to opportunities, and believes that even when pursuing a serious purpose, you've got to have fun along the way!

PLUS!

  • Perth's very classy comedian - Matt Storer
Matt specialises in making people laugh, and for a twist to the usual networking sundowner... he'll provide light hearted entertainment sprinkled with belly laughter!
  • AND two bonus acts - Shash Kapur and Nicole Shi

Two of Perth's best newcomer comedians, performing for a business audience for the very first time... inspiration that is sure to tickle your laugh buttons!

There will also be attendees from various purpose driven enterprises and certified B Corporations, that walk the talk of balancing profit with purpose.

The evening will include food, drinks and networking, stand-up comedy routines, and a panel discussion facilitated by the ever charismatic and entertaining Aaron Ryder (Manager, Churchill Consulting); with purpose driven consultant, and stand-up comedian in his spare time, Michael Watts (Managing Director, ToBe Advisory) as MC!

Proceeds from this event will be donated to Befriend; a community organisation with values that include fun and curiosity, helping people spark social experiences that nurture communities where everyone is valued and can belong.
