Puzzles ‘n Beats @ Hobee’s SJ 10/15

Hip happening event where you have the puzzles 🧩 and DJ Dia Deka has the beats 🎧.

We're once again taking over the queer-owned Hobee’s Restaurant & Beer Garden in Downtown SJ! In honor of our 1 year anniversary of hosting P'nB gatherings and to celebrate Halloween, we're going Pumpkins 'n Bats! Along with the usual array of jigsaw puzzling and beat bumping, we'll be providing mini-pumpkins for painting and hosting a raffle to raise money for Fair Fight: Fighting Voter Suppression.

Our event will be 6-10 PM in their outdoor beer garden, which will be open to the public for dinner as well. All ages welcome! 2 item minimum requested to support the venue. That can range from $10 for non alc drink and a coffee cake, $15-20 for dinner (small menu), and $12 ish for a cocktail.

For this event, we're suggesting a $15 sliding scale ticket to help us predict and control capacity. The full suggested donation amount of $15 provides: event entry, (1) mini-pumpkin, (1) raffle entry, and a donation to Fair Fight: Fighting Voter Suppression. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased on-site. NOTAFLOF 🤗

Raffle prizes include, but are not limited to, puzzles (obviously), a Hobee's pumpkin walnut coffeecake tin, a Hobee's Restaurant gift card, and Dia Deka DJing one of your very own events*! Tickets will be sold until 8:30pm, raffle drawing at 8:45pm; must be present to win!

Street parking available and free after 6pm but it might be a bit of a walk. Closest public garage is San Pedro Square. Also consider public transit, it’s 2 blocks from the St James Light Rail station!

Bring your favorite little puzzle (jigsaw, mind teaser, Lego kit, etc) and enjoy QT with good people and great tunes. Puzzles may be accomplished solo or in groups; this experience is truly a choose-your-own-adventure.
