Perth Velocity House League 2025 Championship Season Registration
Event description
The House League Championship season is back for 2025! As with previous Championship seasons, we will see the return of some of our original teams (and possibly some new ones) to battle it out for the Championship Trophy and ultimate bragging rights for 2025.
As always, games will take place Thursday nights, between 6:25pm and 9:30pm (depending on number of teams). We have scheduled the season to run for 12 weeks (including playoffs), starting on 24 July, and ending mid-October. We will have a bye week with no games on 2 October, while some players are off representing WA at the Inline Hockey Nationals.
Registration closes Friday, 18th July at 11:59pm.
RETURNING TO YOUR 2024 TEAM / STARTING A TEAM
If you are a returning player who previously played for one of our championship teams (LongNecks, Rollerhawks, Sharks or Tropics), you will be given the option to choose whether to automatically be placed on the championship team your most recently played for, or become a free agent (be added to the draft pool, so you may be drafted into a different team).
If you have another team not listed who would like to register together, please email pvhockey95@gmail.com by no later than 11 July with details about the team (including the names of at least 6 team members), and the committee will review these on a case by case basis. This is still a House League competition, so we do still need to try and keep all teams with a relatively even skill level. As with every season, goalies are not assigned to any one team.
WHO CAN PLAY?
Anyone who has played in at least one season of an inline or ice hockey league (eg any of our House League seasons), or who has completed formal inline/ice hockey development training (eg "play the game" type courses).
Prospective players who do not have sufficient experience (eg have played street roller hockey or scrimmages only, or no hockey at all) are not eligible to play in the upcoming season, but are strongly encouraged to join our drop in training and scrimmages which take place most Monday nights, and keep an eye out for our next Recreational season (which is scheduled to start in November).
NEW CLUB MEMBERS FOR 2025
New to the club or our House League? Welcome! There are some minimum equipment requirements to play inline hockey, which you can find on our Player Resources Page. You will also require club and Skate WA competitive membership and insurance (either with Perth Velocity or Perth Tropics). If you are not an existing member of one of those clubs, you will need to visit https://www.revolutionise.com.au/pvih/registration/ to complete our membership form and payment (the total cost is an additional $160, which covers both your membership and insurance through to 31 December).
REFERRALS
If you refer someone new to join as a Perth Velocity club member and they play the majority of their games in the Championship season, you'll receive a discount on your next House League season's rego fees! This year, anyone who didn't play with PV or House League in 2024 will count as "new" players (so if you bring back a mate that played in 2023 or earlier, you're also eligible for the referral discount the same as bringing in someone completely new!)
OTHER INFO
Captains will meet to draft final teams from players in the draft pool (ie anyone who has not elected to re-join their previous team or is part of an approved new team).
Unlike Recreational seasons, there is no cap on how many goals any player can score in a game.
Players may have the option to order a team jersey through their captain, however this is not compulsory, and you may wear any jersey matching your team's colour (with a unique number). Our generic club loaner jerseys will also be available for those who need them.
Links to important information such as the upcoming season's rules can be found in the Player Resources page of the PV website. Fixtures will also be linked there closer to the start of the season.
Although there are some experience requirements for this season, please keep in mind that it is still a House League, and as such will still have a variety of experience/skill levels, from players who have played a single development season through to players with many years under their belt. Our aim is to have some good hockey, but make sure players of all levels enjoy their time on the rink.
Any questions (including if you are unsure if this league is the right fit for you) – please feel free to contact us through our website.
See the season’s Terms & Conditions (also available during checkout) for full details and conditions (including those relating to discounts and referrals).
