    Event description

Rurally based Victorian band Pyrex have been slowly drip-feeding their ambient tinged pop soundscapes via three singles, 'I Want Love', 'Same Things (featuring Connor Toomey)' and 'Beautiful Creature', since 2022 - all receiving play and praise on community radio Australia-wide. Since beginning as a two-piece studio band with singer/songwriter Arian Lane who emerged from a folk music background, and Jordan Hicks who has inhabited various punk bands over the years, the band has grown into a five-piece, whose sound emits an unconscious amalgamation of its parts; woozy, glistening, psychedelic and groovy dream pop.

Pyrex release their debut eight-track EP, 'Noise For No Reason' this September; a record produced by two greats: Richard Pleasance and Naomune Anzai, and one that displays an already extremely realised sound for such a new and emerging act. 'Noise For No Reason' is an exciting introduction to a band with a bright future.

Out September 1st independently with a run of shows in support of the release.

Catch Pyrex launching 'Noise For No Reason' September 23 @ The Taproom, Castlemaine//Dja Dja Wurrung with support from special guests DEAD and Grove.
