Topics will include (if Lach sticks to the script):

  • Creative chaos & working on multiple projects at once

  • The collaborative process of making pictures books

  • The plot twist of becoming a ‘series author’

  • Rejections and connections

  • Being an involved kid lit literary citizen and how to find that tribe

  • Early beginnings of manuscripts – from fish & chip wrappers to editing process

  • Challenges, hiccups and set-backs and finding opportunities though them

This session is open to all, but especially aimed at teachers, parents, and writers and artists interested in working with and writing for young audiences.

Refreshments (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks will be available at the bar, and we encourage everyone to hang around afterwards for a drink and sharing of sketches and ideas.

Copies of Andrea and Lach's books will be available for purchase on the night, thanks to QBD Cairns.
