QAMH Workforce Strategy Implementation Project Consultations
Event description
QAMH is hosting workforce consultations in Cairns, Townsville and Toowoomba to discuss the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy Implementation project in-depth with interested colleagues.
Queenslanders working in the sector, who have accessed community mental health services and/or are carers of people with lived experience of mental health challenges are invited to register for these events. We are seeking a wide range of views as we work together in strengthening the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector workforce.

TOWNSVILLE CONSULTATION
- Date: Wednesday 14 May
- Time: 9am – 3pm
- Location: headspace Townsville, 2/14 Sporting Drive, Thuringowa Central, QLD 4817
TOOWOOMBA CONSULTATION
- Date: Wednesday 4 June
- Time: 10am – 4pm
- Location: Level 3 of the Toowoomba City Library, 155 Herries Street, Toowoomba, QLD 4350
The agenda will include conversations on:
- Core Competency Framework: Defining the essential skills for our workforce.
- Career Pathways: Creating clear entry pathways and routes for professional growth.
- Traineeship Model: Investing in an ‘earn while you learn’ way to enter our sector.
- Cultural Responsiveness: Addressing the unique needs of the multicultural and First Nations workforce and communities.
Who should attend:
- Service Managers
- HR / People and Culture Managers and Officers
- Team leaders and frontline workers including peer workers and those with a First Nations, multicultural or other diverse background
- People with lived-living experience as a service user or carer
- Other stakeholders passionate about strengthening the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector workforce.
