QAMH Workforce Strategy Implementation Project Consultations

QAMH is hosting workforce consultations in Cairns, Townsville and Toowoomba to discuss the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy Implementation project in-depth with interested colleagues.

Queenslanders working in the sector, who have accessed community mental health services and/or are carers of people with lived experience of mental health challenges are invited to register for these events. We are seeking a wide range of views as we work together in strengthening the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector workforce.

TOWNSVILLE CONSULTATION

• Date: Wednesday 14 May
• Time: 9am – 3pm
• Location: headspace Townsville, 2/14 Sporting Drive, Thuringowa Central, QLD 4817

TOOWOOMBA CONSULTATION

• Date: Wednesday 4 June
• Time: 10am – 4pm
• Location: Level 3 of the Toowoomba City Library, 155 Herries Street, Toowoomba, QLD 4350

The agenda will include conversations on:

• Core Competency Framework: Defining the essential skills for our workforce.
• Career Pathways: Creating clear entry pathways and routes for professional growth.
• Traineeship Model: Investing in an ‘earn while you learn’ way to enter our sector.
• Cultural Responsiveness: Addressing the unique needs of the multicultural and First Nations workforce and communities.

Who should attend:

• Service Managers
• HR / People and Culture Managers and Officers
• Team leaders and frontline workers including peer workers and those with a First Nations, multicultural or other diverse background
• People with lived-living experience as a service user or carer
• Other stakeholders passionate about strengthening the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector workforce.
