QArts Jazz Concert Series continues Sunday Nov. 29, 2026 with the José Soto Trio

Presented by the Quincy Art Association and New England Jazz Connections

Quincy, MA — The QArts Jazz Concert Series returns Sunday Nov. 29, 2026, at the QArts Galley, located at 1229 Hancock St in Quincy Center. Doors open at 3:00 PM, and the concert runs from 4:00–5:15 PM. A reception will follow the concert, with wine, cheese, and snacks available for a donation.

This concert features the José Soto Trio. Costa Rican pianist and composer José Soto's music blends classical music, free improvisation, and jazz with Latin American rhythmic underpinnings to create a mesmerizing and evocative musical landscape. His debut album, The Ancestral Call, honors the Bribri indigenous community of his homeland. Drummer Ivanna Cuesta has toured major jazz festivals and venues worldwide, and also composes for film and TV. She released the album A Letter to the Earth on Orenda Records in 2024. Bassist Greg Loughman, a Berklee Global Jazz Institute graduate like Soto, is known for his lyrical, melodic playing. He has has performed with Danilo Perez, George Garzone, and Kenny Werner, among others.

The QArts Jazz Concert Series is a collaboration between the Quincy Art Association and New England Jazz Connections, designed to:

• Build community by bringing people together through live jazz in an intimate, welcoming gallery setting.

• Connect music and visual art by creating meaningful dialogue between the gallery’s exhibitions and live musical performances.

• Expand access to the arts by presenting high-quality jazz in a nontraditional venue and welcoming both new and longtime audiences.

Admission is $15 ($20 at the door), $10 for students/under 18, and $5 for WIC/EBT holders.

This series celebrates Boston’s deep jazz heritage while creating new spaces for community, creativity, and connection.
