Horace Vandegelder, the merchant of Yonkers is not a believer in love. What he is a believer in is strict rules, obedience and wealth. Still, Horace needs someone to look after his home when he can’t, and so he hires the prestigious Matchmaker, Dolly Levi, to find him a suitable wife in New York. But little does he know that Dolly is more interested in helping his niece marry the man Horace hates and assist his store clerks in having a real adventure. In a tale of hijinks and hilarity, The Matchmaker promise an evening of entertainment, comedy, and of course, love.
