Dear colleague

On behalf of the Queensland Catholic Primary Principal’s Association (QCPPA) Conference Committee, I warmly invite you to join us in May 2024 for the Biennial QCPPA Conference, to be held at the Mantra Resort, Mooloolaba Beach.

We believe our theme Mastery of Leadership’ and topics such as AI in education, wellbeing, environment and sustainability, intergenerational change, and the power of community are all critical elements pertaining to the future of education. We are delighted to bring you a range of exciting speakers that will help guide, provoke, and inspire us as we consider the elements of cultivating a high performance team and nurturing our own mastery of leadership.

Join Jacquie Bellthe youngest person in the world to conquer ultra marathons on seven continents, Dr Paul KidsonSenior Lecturer in Educational Leadership at the Australian Catholic University and member of the Australian Principal Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing Survey team,  Professor Marcia McKenzieAssociate Dean of Sustainability in the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne and Director of the $4.7M Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education Project in partnership with the IPCC, the UNFCC, and UNESCO, Shelley Wild, CEO of PeopleHQ and Founder of the Human Learning Collective, and Gus Balbontinformer Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer of Lonely Planet now investor, advisor, adventurer and alternative futurist in a series of keynotes to stimulate your thinking around high performance team culture.

We also invite you choose from a range of practical workshops aimed at deep learning and run by experienced practitioners - Kristen Sharpe, experienced Catholic leader and educator and past principal of Stuartholme, with a great workshop targeted specifically for new leaders, and Ross McSwann, Barrister at Law and Principal of School Disputes, with a laser focus on helping you manage those tricky community members, plus more! So don't miss out, this is a fantastic line-up.

Community is vital is to our wellbeing and ability to thrive. In 2024, we are planning for plenty of opportunities to refresh and reflect, and simply have some fun! Don't miss the welcome drinks on Wednesday night or the Conference dinner on Thursday - both are included in your conference package - as we mix things up to keep it interesting! And come prepared to put theory into practice on Thursday afternoon with fun, interactive, high performance team building!

The QCPPA 2024 Conference Committee aims to deliver a quality event that will provide a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as educational leaders from across Queensland. We hope to see many of our invited guests from Brisbane Catholic Education to further extend collaboration and connection. Together, we represent over 200 leaders working in Catholic primary schools in five Dioceses throughout Queensland. Principals for Principals is our mantra and guide. The work of QCPPA is also undertaken as part of a greater collective, the Australian Catholic Primary Principal’s Association and ultimately, the Australian Primary Principal’s Association.

We hope you make this conference a priority for 2024 as we gather at what will be an exciting conference full of opportunities to connect. We welcome new leaders wishing to participate and look forward to meeting you. The Conference will provide a vibrant networking opportunity for delegates and sponsors alike with welcome drinks, a conference dinner plus refreshment breaks in the relaxing atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast all included as part of your delegate fee. Remember, this conference qualifies as a renewal leave activity too!
