Event description

Hello there, I am so pleased to find you on my page.   My name is Rayne and I am a Qi Gong Teacher that practices medical and spiritual forms of Qi Gong.  As a teacher I am passionate about empowering my students with the tools to empower your life.  I am also an Osteopath and yoga teacher, which helps me infuse my teachings with many different ways to access the body and appreciated how to manage injury or emotional fragility.

So what is it and why would I want to do it?

Qi Gong means “energy skill”.  It is an ancient mind body practice that was developed in China thousands of years ago with roots in Chinese medicine and Daoism.  There are literally thousands of schools of Qi Gong. This practice was born out of observing the natural world and the movements are an extension of natures rhythm.  When we practice in nature we strengthen a greater connection to the elements that resides inside us and bring them into harmony.

To describe it in general terms, It Involves using movements to gather and optimize energy within the body, mind and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintain health and wellbeing. It is involves gentle slow movements and standing postures that builds strength and stamina.  Qi Gong helps access and open areas of  stagnation in the physical and emotional body.  When qi moves it becomes clearer and healthier.  So qi gong transforms our stress into vitality!  The beauty of qi gong is that is accessible for every body at any age.

“Movement is medicine” and to do it in community is always more fun.
