Qigong Shibashi
Qigong is a relatively new art based on ancient Chinese traditional medicine principles and practices.
Qi - meaning lifeforce, energy.
gong - meaning work, cultivate
Together, it means practicing (movements) to cultivate energy in the body to promote health and wellbeing.
Shibashi – pronounced sher-ba-sher, means 18 movements, practiced in a flow pattern to stimulate the lungs, promote mental wellbeing, strengthen the kidneys, knees and legs; helping balance and improve blood pressure.
Over the four weeks, you’ll learn the principles of qigong, the importance of posture, breath and mindfulness through movement and stillness.
The first week will include learning the first 6 movements in the set. The second week, we’ll revise the previous week and learn the next 6. This is repeated the third week. The final week we’ll revise the whole set and practice some more!
