Event description

Happy New Year from the Queensland Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industry!

明けましておめでとうございます!

Join the QJCCI in our celebration of 2025, Japan's Year of the Snake, with our special “Shinnenkai” (new year gathering) networking event on Thursday evening, February 27, at QJCCI Premium Member, Hall Chadwick (Level 4, 240 Queen St, Brisbane) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Our VIP guest is the newly appointed Consul-General of Japan in Brisbane, Mr ISHIKAWA Katsutoshi, who will formally welcome the New Year with a traditional Japanese toast.

In the spirit of giving back, this event is free for QJCCI members, who are also encouraged to bring one guest for free! (Please add their details to your booking).

In Japan, shinnenkai have been held since the 15th century to celebrate the new year and toast each other’s good health and prosperity. The QJCCI wishes to follow this tradition with our popular structured networking event aimed at helping you to meet other members and new contacts in a friendly environment.

Remember that networking is an investment in the future aimed at building relationships, and not simply a scramble for the most business cards or LinkedIn contacts. So please come along and meet some old and new friends and help us celebrate the new year together.

This cocktail event will include a range of delicious canapes and drinks.

The dress code for this event is business attire.
