QLD Camping Bears Winter Camp
Description
QLD Camping Bears are heading back this July for our Winter Camp at Cobb & Co in Tandur near Gympie.
This site is unpowered, pet friendly (please check with the owners regarding dog breed restrictions before booking), and includes showers, toilets, a camp kitchen (BBQ & sink), plus a coffee bar and kiosk where essentials such as ice and firewood can be purchased.
For those wishing to attend, please register using the link below. Once registered, you’ll receive the link to pay for your stay.
Camping is $20 per person per night, plus any applicable pet fees (confirm with the owners prior to booking if bringing dogs).
On the Saturday night, we’ll be hosting our traditional Winter Camp “Soups and Stews” potluck. Everyone is welcome to contribute a dish or simply enjoy what’s on offer — there’s always plenty to go around.
As this is our winter trip, we always emphasise packing warm. If this is your first winter camp, make sure you bring plenty of layers for the brisk evenings. Oodies and onesies are not only practical but add a bit of fun to the weekend.
❄️ Winter Light Display Competition
This July at Cobb & Co, we’re lighting up the cold nights with colour, creativity, and community fun. Get out your lights, lanterns, lasers - whatever winter glow you’ve got.
To participate will be assigned a clearly displayed number.
Members can wander the grounds across the weekend and vote for their favourite display.
Votes will be tallied and the winner announced at 8pm Saturday night.
The community decides the winners; prize to be announced.
Entry Is Optional
No pressure, no sign‑ups, no expectations.
If you want to decorate, go for it.
If you’d rather enjoy the glow, that’s perfectly fine too.
It’s a fun, low‑key way to bring warmth and colour to the winter nights, and a great way for newcomers to meet people while exploring the campsite.
We look forward to seeing you there.
We acknowledge the Gubbi Gubbi Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which we are holding this event.
