QLD Fellows - August 2026

This event will take place at the University of Queensland and includes a tour of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology facilities, followed by drinks, canapés and dinner at Patina at Alumni Court.

Fellows may attend all or part of the program, with ticket selections indicating the sessions they will attend.

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM - UQ Centre for Advanced Imaging (free)

Fellows are welcome to arrive and join in the tour at any time after 3:30pm. There will be somebody at reception to assist late arrivals.

Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology researchers will conduct a tour of the Centre for Advanced Imaging for Academy Fellows who are interested to learn more about its advanced MRI facilities and cutting-edge brain research, and to explore how these capabilities could support research across psychology and the broader social sciences. The three facilities we will be visiting are the cyclotron, pre-clinical MRI (16.4T) and the Human Imaging facility.

Visitor Requirements: must wear a lab coat and safety glasses (supplied), enclosed, flat shoes on site. Bags and personal items (excluding phones) are not permitted on the tour and can be left with our reception team.

5:15 PM - 6:30 PM - Patina at Alumni Court (free, self-funded drinks)

Self-funded drinks, Academy funded canapés.

6:30 PM - Patina at Alumni Court ($50 per person)

Academy subsidised 2 course meal and self-funded drinks.

Dinner includes: • Freshly baked bread roll with butter • Alternate drop entrée/main or main/dessert

Dietary requirements can be catered for.
