Is your council or business looking to switch to renewable electricity, but is unsure about the options or how to proceed? Register now to join renewable electricity purchasing training workshops being delivered across regional Queensland in November and December 2024. 

Business Renewables Centre Australia (BRC-A), Australia's peak renewable energy purchasing initiative and not-for-profit will deliver Renewable Energy Purchasing & Community Benefits Training for council and business energy buyers in 2024, as part of Queensland Department of Energy & Climate’s Local Energy Partnerships Framework. 

Renewable electricity PPAs (enable councils and businesses to benefit directly from low-cost renewable electricity, reduce emissions and share in the benefits these projects with regional communities.  

These lunchtime training workshops will be held both in-person and online and are suitable for energy buyers who purchase over 1 GWh of electricity per year. If you typically spend $150,000 or more a year on electricity, it’s ideal for you. 

Who should attend? 

This course is suitable for energy buyers in local government and other organisations: 

  • Procurement/energy managers. 
  • Sustainability managers. 
  • Accounts and Finance managers. 
  • Contracts / Legal managers. 
  • CFOs, CEOs and Managing Directors.

  • How a PPA works, what options are available to your organisation.  
  • Community benefits, best practice & group buying.
