    Event description

Decarbonisation Accelerated project is partnering with the award-winning QME program in 2024 and facilitating a one-day program, as part of their 3-day event, on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024.

We are bringing together industry leaders to explore the decarbonisation challenges and opportunities in the mining industry and its supply chains with the goal of facilitating positively charged discussions that prepare our region for change and encourage the mining supply chain to embrace decarbonisation as an opportunity to transform, innovate, and remain competitive.

One of the key messages of the QME Decarbonisation Program is the unquestionable embedding of decarbonisation into mining and its supply chain. Decarbonisation is high on the agenda of mining companies and government priorities/strategies, which means mining supply chain businesses will be presented with questions about their own decarbonisation agenda.

We are offering a "Recharge and Reimagine" event where delegates can learn about operational decarbonisation in mining while enjoying a delicious morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments.

This one-day program is one not to be missed if your business is serious about remaining competitive in the mining supply chain.

    KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

    DR PETE WHITBREAD-ABRUTAT
Pete is a Chartered Environmentalist, Churchill Fellow and IEMA Lead Environmental Auditor with more than 30 years’ international experience in mining ESG and sustainability, mine closure and international development in developing and conflict-affected countries. He earned a PhD from the UK’s Camborne School of Mines (University of Exeter) in revegetating mine wastes and a Natural Sciences degree from Cambridge University. For the past 30 years, Peter has been exploring, researching and tackling the issues around sustainable mine site transformation. He brings unique international experience of many hundreds of successful innovative post-mining projects to Queensland.
