Kia ora,

Join us for a three-hour workshop to understand what photonic and quantum technologies are and their impact on the infrastructure sector now and near term.

We’ll consider challenges such as such as lack of network information, structural health monitoring and geotechnical surveys and discuss potential quantum solutions.

The session will be led by Australia's former Chief Scientist (2021-2024), Dr Cathy Foley. For background, here’s Cathy’s introductory webinar for New Zealanders on 14 July.

For Quantum Meets Infrastructure, Cathy will be joined by energy expert, Professor Rod Badcock of the Paihau Robinson Research Institute. They’re eager to discuss the sector’s needs.
What to expect:

Speaker	Topic
Cathy Foley	What are Photonic and Quantum Technologies?
Cathy Foley	Why are they important – big picture?
Industry leader	Industry lead discussion of issues in the sector.
Academic leader – Prof Rod Badcock	Overview of photonic and quantum capability in the sector.
Breakout sessions (academic per group)	Groups each consider a key challenge and solutions.
Group leaders	Provide feedback
Cathy Foley	Next steps for infrastructure sector organisations. Close

Tea/Coffee and Lunch will be provided.
