Queen's Jubilee tree planting project - planting session #2 October 1
Event description
Supported by the club and many volunteers, our Greening Taylors Lakes Branch has achieved a grant of $15,000 to plant trees locally. With the requirement of a specific site to be chosen, the project had been delayed as our initial site of choice was rejected.
Working with Brimbank Council, other sites were investigated and Queen Victoria Reserve was chosen as the first site and was planted with 150 trees on July 30.
An overflow site, at Penthryn Reserve, Nordic Avenue, was identified and this is our planting site for the completion of the project on Sunday October 1, 2023. Depending on available funds, we plant between 50 and 100 plants at this event.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, tools and water bottles, and wear clothing and footwear suitable for the activity.
Refreshments provided, along with some garden tools and equipment.
Please register by clicking on "get tickets". So that we can plan the activities for the morning (such as amount of mulch), we need to know numbers.
Registrations close on September 27.
We hope that you can join us!
