Who should do this training:
Ipswich LDCC Reserve Personnel, City of Ipswich Local Disaster Management Group members, City of Ipswich Local Recovery and Resilience Group members, and Ipswich Recovery Taskforce members.

QDMA is the foundational prerequisite course for all disaster management training delivered under the Queensland Disaster Management Training Framework. If you have completed this training in the past, you are not required to attend again. However, you are welcome to participate as a refresher, particularly if it has been two or more years since you last completed this course, as the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements have changed over the past two years.

Aim:
The aim of the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements (QDMA) is to ensure the safety and resilience of communities by effectively mitigating, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disaster events. This involves a coordinated approach across all levels of government and key stakeholders to manage the impacts of natural and man-made disasters.

Objectives:
By completing this training, you will gain a better understanding of:

  • Disaster management legislation, doctrine, principles and approaches
  • Local, district and state disaster management group structures and functions
  • Prevention, preparedness, response and recovery activities
  • Disaster declaration arrangements
  • Disaster funding arrangements

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Details:
This training will be delivered face-to-face only. There will be no online option available.

Date – Wednesday, 28 August 2024
Time – 1pm to 4pm
Location - North Ipswich Reserve Corporate Centre, 2B Pine Street, North Ipswich.

Parking:
Limited onsite parking at the venue. Additional street parking available nearby on The Terrace and Pelican Street.

What to bring:

  • Laptop or pen and paper
  • Water bottle

Catering:

Afternoon tea will be provided – please advise of any dietary requirements when booking your ticket by midday Friday 23 August (please note preferences are unable to be catered for).
