How we talk about hubs matters

The stories we tell and the language we use can influence community trust, public support and investment in the systems that help children thrive. The way we talk about child and family hubs shapes how people understand their purpose, value and role in supporting children and families.

In this interactive session, you'll be introduced to the science of framing, drawing on Australian research into the mindsets people hold about children, families and support. You'll also hear from people working in and alongside child and family hubs as they share how framing is helping strengthen practice and shift conversations.

You'll leave with a practical understanding of why framing matters, simple tools and resources you can start using straight away, and the foundations to continue building your framing skills over time. As part of our monthly Learning Series, this is an opportunity to learn alongside others, exchange ideas and strengthen the capability of child and family hubs across Queensland.

Background about the Queensland Hubs - Learning Exchange

Delivered through the Queensland Hubs Exchange of Expertise and Learning (QHEEL) initiative, this monthly series will bring together Queenslanders with an interest in hubs to learn from one another and explore what works.

The series will bring to life the Queensland Child and Family Hubs Framework. Each session will also consider what the topic means for the role of hubs in delivery of the Thriving Kids initiative.
