Queensland Kendo Championships 2024

Queensland Kendo Renmei is proud to host the 2023 Queensland Kendo Championships on Saturday 20 January 2023.

The Championships is open to all current QKR members - Juniors, Kyu and Dan. All ages, abilities and experience are welcome. The event is planned to include:

• Individual Championships (Dan, Kyu, Juniors and Beginners)
• Team Championships (format to be determined following participant registrations)
• Social BBQ lunch

We are also looking for volunteers to assist with Shinpan (refereeing) and Kakari-in (court assistants).

Schedule:

• 7:00 - venue open and set up
• 7:30 - registrations
• 8:15 - opening ceremony
• 8:30 - shinpan briefing
• 8:45 - Individual Championships
• 12:00 - Lunch BBQ
• 13:00 - Team Competition
• 16:00 - Closing ceremony, pack up

You must be a current QKR member to compete or volunteer. 

Lunch - QKR will supply some BBQ food and drinks, but we ask people bring something to share as well. If you have special dietary needs, please talk to the organisers. 

What to bring:

1. Kendo-gi and hakama (competitor, volunteers and shinpan) & bogu (competitors)
2. water bottle
3. Please bring some food to share!
