2024 Queensland Kendo Winter Seminar and Grading - EVENT REGISTRATION

Welcome to the 2024 Queensland Kendo Renmei winter seminar and grading.  

The QKR executive is currently planning the winter Seminar to be held in July.

• The Kendo component of the seminar will be under the guidance of Tamura Sensei.
• The Iaido component of the seminar will be under the guidance of TBC.
• The Jodo component of the seminar will be under the guidance of TBC.

Seminar planning is under way with the relevant appointed instructors, and it is hoped that we can issue a schedule with a few weeks.

Grading

A grading will be held on Saturday July 6. This is open to current financial members of the AKR 

To be eligible you must meet the time-in-grade and minimum qualifications for the grade you are attempting.

We are planning to hold grading examination as per the below, however this is subject to panel member availability.

• Kendo from Kyu to Yondan
• Iaido from Kyu to Sandan
• Jodo from Kyu to Nidan

**Grading levels will be confirmed once the Executive understands the availability of suitable grading panel members.

The grading will take place on Saturday morning prior to the commencement of the seminar.

Dan examination questions will be posted on the QKR Website shortly. 

Closing date for receiving grading applications is the 22 June 2024.

Grading examination applications are to be made using the online grading form Grading Form and payment made via Humanitix grading registration.


Attendance Fees:

$65.00 for 2 days. Discount applies for juniors, students, families of 3 or more participants.

To assist all members and encourage members to attend the seminar, a travel subsidy to a maximum of $250 is available to members who travel more than 250Km one way to the venue.  Proof of seminar attendance is based on Humanitix registration, registered address, and proof of costs incurred to travel. Please email treasurer@qkr.asn.au with the request post-event.

Please also note that lunch is not provided, and members should make their own arrangements for food and drinks. There are shops 4 minutes’ walk (Café, Pizza, Fish & Chips, Coles and Bakery).

IMPORTANT! You must be a paid 2024-2025 member of the Queensland Kendo Renmei to participate in this event.
