Queensland Writers Centre – 2025 Christmas Party & Poetry Awards

Celebrate 2025 with us!

Queensland Writers Centre's CEO, Management Committee and staff invite you to attend our annual Christmas celebrations. It's a time to relax and reflect on the accomplishments and milestones of 2025, and look forward to the possibilities of 2026.

The evening will include addresses from CEO Lori-Jay Ellis and Chair Jemma Pollari, as well as the presentation of the 2025 Queensland Poetry Awards and Johnno Award. Special guest, Malouf International Poet-in-Residence Chris Tse, will be joining us to present the Awards and read from his work.

Format

This is a members-only event, held in-person at The Edge Auditorium, State Library of Queensland. Light catering and an open bar will be provided.

Arrive 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start.

Fellowship & Access Fund

Our end of year celebrations raise money for the Queensland Writers Centre Fellowship & Access Fund, which supports writers from diverse backgrounds and financially disadvantaged situations to access programs and services.

Donate any amount to the Fund with your booking or in our raffle on the night for entries to our special prizedraw. Prizes will be announced on the night.
