Good and Ready: Disaster & Emergency Preparedness Workshop (Queenstown)
Event description
Learn how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters & emergencies.
Emergencies can happen anytime — earthquakes, floods, storms, or prolonged power cuts. Being prepared means you and your whānau can respond quickly, confidently, and safely when it matters most.
Join NZ Red Cross, QLDC Welcoming Communities, and Lakes Multicultural Collective for this free, practical, and interactive workshop designed especially for multicultural communities in Queenstown Lakes. No prior experience or knowledge is needed — just come along, bring your questions, and learn in a supportive, friendly environment. (In Wanaka? Be sure to check out your Good and Ready workshop HERE.)
In this workshop you’ll learn:
Why emergency preparedness matters for our communities
Understanding local hazards and risks
How to create a household or community plan
Resources and templates to take away and use in your own groups
💡 These sessions are part of Lakes Multicultural Collective's Settlement Integration Services, designed to give newcomers, migrants, ethnic, and Pacific communities practical knowledge and tools to help them thrive and stay safe here in the Queenstown Lakes District.
