Join your fellow Queerios at The Farmhouse and let's get signing!!
What: Beginner Auslan Group
Who: LGBTQ+ folks who are keen to learn Auslan and make new friends
When: Every Tuesday 4-5pm, starting on the 13th Feb 2024, for 10 weeks (Term 1)
Where: The Farmhouse, 209 Mullumbimby Road, Mullum
Cost:
- $20/session or $180 for Term 1 (10 weeks) (this is subsidised thanks to NRCF funding)
- If you have the means or are not part of a minority group, please consider increasing your contribution
- If you are a regular Queer Family volunteer, low income, First Nations, trans/gender diverse, still experience ongoing flood impacts or face other barriers, please pay nothing or what you can manage - no shame or questions asked!
Parking: limited on site parking, so please squeeze together or car pool if you can!
Who else can come?
- Children who are not disruptive are welcome to come for free. We have art supplies, Queer library, comfy couches, a pool (older children only), and some games to help keep them entertained (feel free to bring your own)
- Non-Queer people who are able to actively de-centre themselves and practice Queer-affirming behaviour are also welcome, especially folks with other minority experiences
Refreshments: Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate
What next? We aim to have ongoing classes and offerings throughout 2024 so you can continue your Auslan journey
