  • Basjia

    Basjia

Basjia is a black, queer, multidisciplinary artist living on Unceeded Gadigal Land, Sydney Australia (always was, always will be Aboriginal Land). She is a trailblazer across multiple artistic practices and communities, her art and continuous community work is to elevate and platform BIPOC art & artists. Having worked in the industry for almost 7 years, she uses her experience and voice continuously to elevate and platform others, as well as discuss the discrimination Black, Indigenous & POC workers face within the Pole community. She uses her recognition to continuously educate others on the Black SW roots of pole, on the issues of erasure and on bringing black sw and culture to the forefront. Her dance is about unshaming and reclaiming the beauty, power and sensuality of the black femme body. Her practice is deeply rooted in taking up space, in moving from spirit, in paying homage to black culture, the black sw roots of pole and her ancestors. Her movement is earth shatteringly powerful, deeply erotic, completely embodied, nasty as fuck, raw, cathartic, and a continuous love letter to her younger self and those who once felt shame for their bodies, their existence. To witness to her movement is to be in conversation with her spirit, to peel back the layers and leave her soul bare, to feel deeply. She invites you to unshame your body, to move without perfection or permission, to breathe deep, and be unapologetic in rage, joy, sex, pain, and play.

  • Bella Donna

    Bella Donna

Bella Donna works in slow tension, nothing rushed, nothing overstated. Her sets circle 90s house and euphoric trance, letting the music settle and stretch until they take hold of the room. What builds is an electric undercurrent, subtle but insistent, drawing the crowd into a shared state. There’s instinct in the way she moves between rhythm and base, keeping things fluid but deliberate. The result is an intimate and immersive dancefloor which brings a collective funk.
