About this event

Branching Out Adventures is hosting the 4th annual Queer CampOUT! Attending this event means a weekend of queer community, thoughtful conversation, romping around the woods, and celebrating queer joy! The weekend will include activities like hiking, yoga, river exploration, games, open mic night, and celbrating the joy that is being queer outside!

Waivers/Registration: All participants must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this page.

Meeting Location: Rob Hill Campground, San Francisco, CA

Carpooling: Although the campsites are only allocated a total of 4 vehicles, there is ample street parking nearby! However, car break ins can be a risk, so please plan accordingly.

Accessibility: There is cell service all around the campground. Participants can expect to walk up to 4 miles, go over rocky terrain, and uneven surfaces. Water spigots and restrooms are available in the campground. Please visit the campground's website for detailed information on what amenities are available within the campground.

What to Bring:

We understand that not all participants may not have everything listed below and that is not a problem whatsoever! Our community has extra supplies, access to gear libraries, and are willing to share with one another. Please contact our team at admin@branchingoutadv.org before 4/11/2024 to confirm any needed supplies.

Tent
Sleeping bag
Sleeping pad
Clothes and shoes that you feel comfortable hiking in
Your own food for 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, and 2 lunches as well as means to cook it. Some meal ideas can be found here. Lunches are typically eaten away from camp, so cold lunches are recommended.
Snacks as desired
A backpack to bring on hikes
Containers for snacks and lunch to bring on trail
Sun protection (sunscreen, sun hat)
Camp chair
Games (optional)
Musical instruments (optional)
Hammock (optional)

Cancellations:

In the event that we must cancel an adventure due to extreme weather conditions or poor air quality, the team will reach out via email no later than 5:00 PM, 3 days prior to this event.

Branching Out Adventures encourages people from all identities and backgrounds to participate in our programs. Many of our programs are outdoors and involve moving in a variety of landscapes. If you have accessibility concerns (e.g. allergies, limited mobility, learning differences), our projects are flexible and we are happy to work with you.
