Queer Life Drawing - Garden of Babylon
Event description
Queer life drawing – garden of Babylon.
Get ready to be taken back to a romantic memory of the world left to the sense of time. Facilitated by local drag artist, Enya Arsenal, is a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts (of all experiences) to practice creating artworks that rejects serious outcomes, and fosters principals of exploration and ‘Play’,
Garden of Babylon - builds a world that is uniquely familiar and emulates our past as a tableau of cherished love letters. Romanticism meets Classical sculpture as two passionate storytellers offer up a delightful series of poses that set the scene. One half of this paring, Toni Mercury, is a lover of Shakespeare, history, and costume, while other half, Leon, is a gifted musician and multimedia artist living with chronic illness. Their overlapping interest in storytelling and character development is employed in this spectacular special life-drawing event.
Enya Arsenal provides space to 'Play' - amongst the ever-changing environment of curated works at Sawtooth ARI - as artists and art enthusiasts embrace this unique opportunity. An opportunity to network with your local community, conceptualise works of art, approach sketching with new eyes, and give way to our yearning for PLAY.
There is no experience necessary and basic art supplies will be provided, however it is encouraged for avid artists to BYO their own materials that they prefer. This is an 18+ Alcohol free event. Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided and plenty of small breaks for socialising.
