Queer Performance Workshop

We heard you and here goes the opportunity to Step on stage and own your power with the school holiday Performance Workshop!

Join us at the "Fun Haus Factory" in the heart of Gosford, for a day of performance, play and self-expression! Explore characters, play games and practice the art of story telling through theatre!

Get out of your head and into your body. This day is about having fun with new friends and getting out of our comfort zones in a safe space. If you've done lots of performing, or none at all, this workshop is for you!

This workshop is for 12-18 year old LGBTQIA+, First Nations & youth living with disability as well as their mates and allies.

About the artists:

Carlee Heise (She/Her) wears many hats. She is a Youth Worker and Artist Facilitator, leading the Award winning YAAS! Young Authentic and Social by day, and a performance maker by night. Carlee has performed in Drag for organisations such as Biconic, Heaps Gay, Queerspace Australia and Wear it Purple. Her acting and performance making credits include Sydney Fringe Festival as a part of Shopfront Arts Co-op’s Harness Ensemble, The Experts at Crack Theatre Festival and Return of Kings at Shopfront Arts Co-op for the ArtsLab: Uncanned, Surf Seance by Rachel Kerry at Bondi Feast. In 2020 Carlee directed a revised season of Return of Kings at Old 505 in Newtown. Carlee has facilitated creative workshops for Young People aged 8-19 both at Shopfront Arts Co-op and now with Naughty Noodle Fun Haus on the Central Coast.

Luca's drama experience stems back to 2010, when he started doing musical theatre at Gosford Musical Society. Since his debut on the stage in "Boy From Oz" (GMS 2010), Luca has been fortunate enough to be cast in many lead roles throughout the years for different companies around the Central Coast. His favourite roles include Lowbutt in “Honk” (GMS 2017), Tyson in “Under The Blue Blood Moon” (Jopuka 2018), Cat in the Hat, and Horton the Elephant in “Seussical: The Musical” (Jopuka 2022), and, most recently, Johnny in “American Idiot” (Jopuka 2023). Luca has been teaching the senior drama classes, catered to highschool age young people, at Central Coast Music Factory since 2020, and strives to pass on his knowledge and understanding of theatre, stage presence, and characterisation. Many of his students have since excelled in their HSCs, auditions and performances for shows, and auditions for performing arts schools and universities. Luca takes pride in educating young artists and actors, be it in their chosen careers, or if they're just looking for a bit of fun in something new.
