Queer Records Listening Club: #001 Launch

Welcome to Queer Records Listening Club – a monthly gathering for LGBTQIA+ music lovers to connect, catch-up and celebrate iconic queer albums on vinyl.

Each month, we’ll listen to a new or classic record by a queer artist or icon – played start to finish, just as they intended. It’s like a book club, but for music: a chance to slow down, tune in, and share in the sounds that shaped us.

To kick things off, we’re celebrating 20 years of Robyn by revisiting her 2005 self-titled album, which receives a special edition vinyl reissue this year. Widely regarded as a pivotal moment in modern pop, this iconic album includes the anthems With Every Heartbeat, Handle Me, and Who’s That Girl. All hail the Queen of Sad Bangers!

Our home for the night is Carolina – a queer-first space run by a gorgeous team who care deeply about creating a welcoming environment. Expect themed drinks, $2 pizza slices, and all round great vibes. (Closest tram: 96)

Want to take the experience home? Vinyl copies of the featured album will be available on the night, or you can pre-order online and pick up in person.
