    Event description

This event will be half social fun times with a bunch of like minded queer people and half super cute workshop times!

When you think of coding, do you think difficult and boring?! Well we'd like to change your mind on that! Just like pottery, crochet, or painting, coding is about creating something of your own, but in digital space.

In this workshop, we will explore the creative side of code with HTML and CSS (and we'll cover what these are!). You will get to build a website for yourself, your friends or your cats.

Come join us for an evening of fun activities, learn a new digital craft and meet some nice people. Nerdy is the new cool now.

    What will we cover?

In this interactive class, you’ll learn about coding from someone who's passionate about upskilling the wider community with fearless tech skills and knowledge. Your teacher May will cover:

    • Coding basics - what is coding exactly
    • What can you do with code

Then we'll get our hands dirty and actually write some code. You will get to build a website from scratch. This includes:

    • Building and styling your website
    • Publishing your website

Like you get a scarf from a knitting workshop or a mug from a pottery workshop, at the end of this workshop, you will take home your very own website on a URL that you can share with your friends and family!
