Event description

Queer Soundbath is back in April, offering a space to all our beautiful queer souls to come bathe in an evening of guided meditation & ambient soundscapes. These evenings are a tender space to drop into our hearts & bodies, immerse in collective sound healing, and connect with community.

~ This special Sunday Soundbath will be held by Malaika Mfalme, Ocean, and Ran Fields, weaving together in harmony to create a space of relief & elevation ~

Malaika Mfalme is a Tanzanian/Australian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and event producer creating on Gadigal Land (Sydney). In their mother tongue Swahili, their name translates to Angel King. Malaika writes immersive and evoking music that focuses on black love, self-acceptance, grief, and the journey of being loved and sometimes lost. Malaika’s music creates a space focused on healing with a powerful message of kindness, acceptance and reflection vibrating through every one of their sonic outputs. Mfalme’s ink-stained fingers play sweet melodic guitar alongside strikingly smooth vocals layered with a looping pedal; reminding you their name is Angel for a reason.

Ocean is a non-binary artist who plays with ambient, ethereal layers of vocals and synth. They draw from their namesake to create transformative soundscapes that express the fluidity of their experience as a genderqueer human. Ocean's music is like a portal, their reverberating sounds opening up space of deep emotional healing and connection.

These two artists are coming together for the sound journey, offering sweet relief through reverberant vocal harmonies and looped instrumental effects.

Come as you are and soften into this sound journey. We welcome you to hang around after and connect with like-minded queer spirits and relax in the joy of being held together in community.

Ticket - By donation (suggested $30)

We’ve chosen to continue this as a donation based event as it’s important to us that it remains accessible. Please take it as an invitation to donate what feels right for you, and make sure to reserve a spot as there is limited capacity!

Just to note: the suggested amount is calculated to cover hall costs and adequately pay facilitators if we reach full capacity at $30/person. We recognise that not everybody will be able to give financially and we encourage you to only donate what you can. There’s always a chance to donate more on the evening if you are unable to when reserving your place online.

This event takes place on the unceded lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people. Kaleidoscope Collective pays respects to elders past and present, acknowledging their sovereignty and ongoing connection to land and waters, wisdom and community. Recognising that words alone are not enough and that each day we exist on and are sustained by Indigenous land, a percentage of profits from this event will be diverted to Pay the Rent.
