Are you tired of spending weeks on the apps, only to finally meet someone IRL and realise within seconds it’s not going to work out? Has the pandemic got your libido from woah to no, and all you’d like to do right now is make some new friends who are down to eat dessert and watch TV? Is it time to say never again to another baby shower, but you don’t know what else to do with your afternoons? Friend, we are here for you! 

Join us for an intimate "speed dating" event for anyone who identifies outside of heteronormative relationships, expectations, ideologies, values, social structures and social systems.

Tired of heteronormativity? So are we.

This is a queer-friendly event for those of us who want to experience intimacy and connection with others free from traditional ideas of heteronormativity. We include, and also explore beyond, the romantic and sexual. This event encourages deep, interpersonal relationships that may evolve into friendships and communities. Your sexual and/or romantic attractions might not match up with everyone you meet. In the spirit of queerness and breaking free of heteronormativity, we invite you to meet new people, regardless of gender and sexual identities, in a safe and fun way. We are 99% certain there will be no boring conversations!

What's on the agenda?

“Musical chairs” style "speed dates". Again, in the spirit of breaking out of heteronormativity, “dates” will involve a mix of groupings, from solo, couples, throuples and larger groups. Prompts will be provided to kick start conversations. People will be invited to move each ‘round’ so attendees experience new settings and meet new people.

What's on the menu?

• 2 x signature Yoku Ono cocktails + sake 
• Vegan bento box* - because you bet you can eat all of the best things without needing to go on a date!
