Queer Visions: Queer Intimacies - Experiments in First Person Documentary
Event description
Join us for our second screening in the Queer Visions expanded film festival as we present Queer Intimacies: (Experimental) First Person Documentaries.
Films include:
Lloyd Wong, Unfinished (dir. Lesley Loksi Chan, 2025, 29 mins), an experimental documentary which explores queer archives and the meaning of incompletion - winner of the Teddy Award and the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the 2025 Berlinale.
Lesbian Whale (dir. Barbara Hammer, 2015, 7 mins), an animation of Hammer’s early notebook drawings set to a sound track of commentary by the artist’s friends and peers.
My Therapist Said, I am Full of Sadness (dir. Monica Vanesa Tedja, 2024, 22 mins), a film which draws on archival material to ponder the question of biological and chosen family.
Bigger on the Inside (dir. Angelo Madsen, 2022, 12 mins). From an isolated wooded cabin a trans man feels his way through a cosmology of embodiment in a meditation on desire and connection.
Plus other hidden gems and activities.
