Join us for our second screening in the Queer Visions expanded film festival as we present Queer Intimacies: Experiments in First Person Documentaries.
Films include:
Lessons in Baby Dyke Theory (dir. Theo Jean Cuthand, 1995, 3 mins). A sixteen-year-old lesbian dreams of finding other lesbians at school in her hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Lloyd Wong, Unfinished (dir. Lesley Loksi Chan, 2025, 29 mins), an experimental documentary which explores queer archives and the meaning of incompletion - winner of the Teddy Award and the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the 2025 Berlinale.
Lesbian Whale (dir. Barbara Hammer, 2015, 7 mins), an animation of Hammer’s early notebook drawings set to a sound track of commentary by the artist’s friends and peers.
My Therapist Said, I am Full of Sadness (dir. Monica Vanesa Tedja, 2024, 22 mins), a film which draws on archival material to ponder the question of biological and chosen family.
Bigger on the Inside (dir. Angelo Madsen, 2022, 12 mins). From an isolated wooded cabin a trans man feels his way through a cosmology of embodiment in a meditation on desire and connection.
