Christmas Show 2026 | Quest for the Christmas Star
Description
☀️🎄 When the Christmas Star that has crowned Queenstown’s tree for years mysteriously disappears, five young adventurers set off on a quest to find it before Christmas can begin! Following a trail of clues across some of the Wakatipu’s most iconic spots, from the farm to the lake to the top of Coronet Peak, they meet some very interesting characters along the way and discover what truly makes Christmas special 🌟.
This year is extra special as we celebrate 20 years of the Queenstown Christmas Show 🎉. Packed with singing, dancing, aerialists, gymnasts, kapa haka and, of course, the much-loved Remarkables Men’s Ballet, it’s a festive adventure for the whole family that celebrates the people, traditions and treasured memories that have made this show part of Christmas in our community for two decades. 🏔️🎅🏼.
During their journey, you’ll enjoy performances from our talented cast and dancers, as well as:
Silk & Circus Aerialists
Queenstown Gymnastics Club
Wakatipu Conservatoire of Classical Ballet
Dance QT
Kāmuriwai Kapa Haka Performance Rōpū
The Remarkables Men’s Ballet.
Don’t miss this unforgettable festive adventure at Queenstown Events Centre on December 5th and 6th with three special performances!

CHRISTMAS GIFTING
Celebrating 20 years of the Queenstown Christmas Show
When the very first Christmas Show opened in 2007, tickets were $10 for adults. Twenty years on, they still are $10. Kids are still $5, and under 5s are still free. That’s a choice we’ve made on purpose, every year, so that every family in our community can be part of the magic.
This year, for our 20th show, we’re asking something of you. If you’re able to give a little more, there are three easy ways to share the magic with locals who need it most.
⭐ Christmas Star Experiences
When you buy your tickets, add a gift towards a Christmas Star Experience with RealNZ, Shotover Jet or Skyline Queenstown. Every dollar you give is matched, so your gift goes twice as far. The Salvation Army will pass these experiences on to local teenagers and older kids, the ones who are hardest to buy for and often miss out at Christmas. A canyon blast, a lake cruise or a ride up the gondola could be the highlight of someone’s summer.

💛 Add a donation
Prefer to simply give? Add any amount at checkout and we’ll pass every cent to the Salvation Army Queenstown to support local families this Christmas. They’re preparing to help around 400 people this year, up from 250 last year, so every bit counts.

✨ Make a Wish on the Christmas Star
Know someone who deserves a bit of magic? A club that needs new gear, a volunteer who never stops giving, a neighbour who’s had a tough year? Make a wish for them, and with help from local businesses we’ll grant as many as we can and reveal them at the shows. Everyone who makes a wish goes in the draw to win a Christmas Star Family Experience. It’s free, and you can make as many wishes as you like. Wishes close Friday 20 November at 11.59pm.

🎄 Our gift to the community
The show is gifting family passes across the three performances to local families who could do with some Christmas joy, shared through the Salvation Army, Big Buddy Programme and Happiness House.
Twenty years, the same price, and a whole town getting behind each other. We can’t wait to see you at the Queenstown Events Centre on 5 and 6 December.
