Quick Start: Rowing Community Luncheon
Event description
Join us for a special luncheon celebrating the strength, spirit, and stories of our rowing community, alongside an update on the early success of the Quick Start Campaign.
We are honoured to welcome Kim Brennan AM as our keynote speaker. An Olympic gold medallist, Kim is widely regarded as one of the finest single scullers in the sport’s history.
They say single scullers self-select - and that they must start young to master the technical demands of the boat. Kim defied that idea. Her rise through the sport was not only a triumph of talent but of intellect, determination and deliberate practice. Her victory in the single scull final at the Rio Olympics remains one of rowing’s most remarkable stories - and her contributions beyond the boat continue to inspire.
Guests will also hear about the success of the Quick Start Campaign and the exciting plans for the 2025/26 fleet and beyond that will help shape the future of rowing for the next generation, along with insights from a SPSC rowing community panel selected to share the impact rowing has had on their lives and reflect on the opportunities the School provides for current students.
