Quiet Steps, Propaine, Doris + more (all-ages)

In one month, we will hold our final shows, before closing forever. Thank you to everyone who has allowed Season Three to mean something to them, over the past eighteen months. These last shows are a considered attempt to go out at the very apex of our ambition, and to create memories we hope will endure long after our little space becomes… offices, probably. Here’s some words:

Night Two - Saturday, May 10th:

“Surprises” isn’t a band, FYI. Not every plot is fully formed yet, but space is being held for a few things that’d be nice to see eventuate. We had a very special local band ready to announce here too, but because of Big Music Business Reasons™️, there is now a black rectangle on the poster. We look forward to being allowed to remove the rectangle shortly. 

Doris shows are powerful, visceral, cathartic experiences - their acoustic set here just last week was deeply moving, but having them back in full force carries a different weight. Propaine have been on the “wow, that’d be so special if…” list since we started booking bands here, and just when it looked impossible, the stars aligned to make this happen. Thank you for making the trip, friends. 

Quiet Steps were an integral part of the first Meanjin community I ever felt connected to, a couple of lifetimes ago. It’s been amazing to watch their mythos grow, years after those formative house shows and crammed band rooms. They did some reunion shows in 2018, but the very idea of having them re-re-unite for this one felt significant.
