Quieting the Inner Critic: A Creative Art Therapy Workshop on Imposter Syndrome

Do you ever feel like you're "faking it," waiting for someone to notice you don't belong, even when everything says otherwise? That quiet, nagging voice has a name: imposter syndrome. It shows up in classrooms, kitchens, boardrooms and studios alike, whispering that our successes are just luck and our mistakes are proof we're not enough.

This 90-minute workshop offers a warm, supportive space to explore those feelings, not by talking them to death, but by making. Using mask making, colour and guided reflection, we'll gently unpack where self-doubt comes from, how it takes root, and why it can feel so relentless and hard to shake.

What makes this workshop different

Rather than simply discussing imposter syndrome, you'll build a mask that represents the face you show the world, and start to explore the story underneath it. It's a hands-on, embodied way into a feeling that usually only lives in our heads, and something you don't often get the chance to do in everyday life.

You will:

• Explore where self-doubt quietly took hold in your own story

• Give the inner critic shape and form, so it becomes easier to see and set down

• Reconnect with your accomplishments in a way that feels real, not just "on paper"

• Leave with a personal artwork and one small, achievable step forward

• Share a meaningful pause with a small, respectful group

No art experience needed. This isn't about making good art. It's about making space for yourself.
