"Quinceanera" Dance Party - Celebrating Cata's 15th aussieversary
Event description
This is a dance party like no other! We put together an amazing line up of zumba and dance instructors from different areas of Melbourne, and diverse dance styles, ages, genders, backgrounds and abilities!
How it works:
- This is (kind of like) a longer version of a dance/zumba class, we just make it extra fun and create a party atmosphere
- Every instructor dances a few songs lead/follow style. Some will bring their participants on stage, which will make it extra special!
- No dance experience required! This is an inclusive event that welcomes all abilities and all levels of dance experience. Our instructors will lead easy-to-follow steps and you are welcome to "choose your own adventure" and modify as you feel.
- No partner required! You'll be dancing on your own, alongside with amazing like-minded people
- It's more fun with friends, so make sure you invite your friends to come along. There is a special price for friends who dance together.
What to bring:
- Comfortable -and colourful- dance-fitness outfit (runners, leggings, shorts, sweatpants) Whatever makes you feel good and brings you on a party mode!
- Refillable water bottle. This is a sustainable event. Please bring your own water bottle and you can refill it if it runs out
- Sweat towel
- A change of clothes might be handy... we are going to make you sweat... a la la la la long...

Why "Quinceanera"
Cata Gonzalez is an entertainer and zumba instructor who arrived in Melbourne in 2009. She has been dancing since she was born, performing traditional Colombian dance since a very early age, and since she came to Australia, she started teaching dance classes for communities of people of all ages and abilities.
It is her 15th "aussieversary" (Anniversary of 15 years in Australia) and decided to create a beautiful dance feast with her talented friends.
Everyone is welcome to join the party and celebrate!!! It doesn't matter if you don't know Cata.
"Quinceanera" is a traditional celebration of Latin American women when they turn 15. This party won't have "princess style" party dresses, but it will be super fun.
Dance with you soon!
