Quivers Launch Bottle The Nervous 7" with Grace Turner + Program at the Thornbury Bowls Club
Listen to a preview
Description
Quivers are back from baby hiatus in a new formation with a 7" single and having a Thornbury Bowls Club party with Grace Turner + Program to celebrate!
QUIVERS:
Quivers have been making jangle-damaged lyric-driven guitar pop long enough now for REM to slide into their DMs. Dream US label Merge Records signed the band for their 3rd release, Oyster Cuts, and Quivers toured with indie stalwarts Superchunk and by themselves all over Australia, Europe and North America in 2024, stopping in Seattle to film a 2nd KEXP studio performance. A hiatus followed as Sam took a break to become a dad and write songs for the upcoming next album while pushing a pram and pointing at birds and planes. This next chapter features a louder trio sound with new collaborators Shauna Boyle (Cable Ties, drums/singing) and Thomas Skalicky (Little Island, bass/singing). It starts with rolling announcements of more national and international touring and a new 7” single out November 4 on Merge November 4 featuring “Bottle The Nervous” and a cover of The Vulgar Boatmen’s 1989 roadtrip-obsessed gem “Drive Somewhere”.

GRACE TURNER:
Grace Turner, a singer songwriter from the industrial town of Newcastle, Australia is renown for her emotionally-driven indie-folk songs, which are intensely personal. Turner has lived immersed with creative influences; her mother a visual artist and her father a poet. Falling somewhere between alt country and indie rock, Turner entices exciting possibility with her song writing and sound.

PROGRAM:
Platonic childhood sweethearts Rory Heane and Jonathan Ross-Brewin put together a fresh batch of catchy, hook- laden rock’n’roll tracks to sing along to supported by James Tyrrell on the tubs and new member Charlotte Stewart holding it down on bass.
