Quivers’ life-damaged but hopeful jangle pop returns on their long-anticipated second album, Golden Doubt. Out now on Spunk Records, it's full of the driving rhythms and harmony-driven pop that comes naturally to Quivers. Musically it plays with the ghosts of '80s Australian guitar bands and the spirit of R.E.M. and Teenage Fanclub, but with a lyrical directness not many bands commit to.

"Quivers' songs seem to emanate from the best college radio station of the 1980s: Sam Nicholson's songs swoon and jangle with sounds of The Chills, The Go-Betweens and a dozen other Australasian bands in that vein, not to mention the radiant echoes of The Kinks…” -- NPR
